Visit to the Solar Platform

In order to spread the knowledge and technology that the Almería Solar Platform has developed during its more than 30 years of work through its daily research work, visitors who come to the PSA are offered a guided tour of its facilities.

During this tour, visitors obtain timely information on each and every one of the different technologies that make up this centre, dedicated mainly to Concentrated Solar Thermal Energy. For a better understanding of the scientific processes of the PSA, demonstrations will be carried out outside the Visitor Centre on the following instruments: • Parabolic trough demonstrator (DISS) • Detoxifier x • Solar cooker • Wind turbine The demonstrations are subject to weather availability. The interior of the Centre has two scale models of the CESA-1 high-temperature installation and its Central Receiver, and houses various posters on Solar Energy throughout History and the different investigations that are currently being carried out at the PSA.

At the end of the guided tour, visitors enter the Visitor Center to watch a 10-minute film showing in the auditorium, with a capacity of 110 seats, summarizing all the PSA research areas.

To benefit from the reduced or free rate, in all cases accreditation must be presented.

Free admission:

• Children under 8 accompanied by adults (school groups not included)

• Journalists on a work visit
